Ajrakh hand block print modal/crepe silk fabric created using traditional resist block printing and natural dyeing techniques. This ancient craft, believed to be over 4,500 years old, traces its roots to artisans who migrated from Sindh to Kutch in Gujarat and Barmer in Rajasthan. Ajrakh continues to be associated with the Maldhari pastoral community of Bhuj. The process is detailed and time-intensive, involving multiple stages where each layer of colour is printed after a resting period, allowing the fabric to absorb dyes deeply. The crepe silk fabric offers a smooth texture with a fluid drape, making it comfortable to wear while maintaining a refined look. It is well suited for kurtas, shirts, dresses and even select home decor applications.

    Dry in shade, inside out, to preserve color and print

    Iron on reverse at low to medium heat

    Do not bleach or tumble dry

    Natural dyes may bleed slightly during the first few washes, this is normal for handcrafted textiles
