hakoba cutwork embroidered ajrakh cotton fabric is crafted using natural-dyeing and resist block-printing techniques. This ancient craft is estimated to be around 4,500 years old. The Ajrakh artisans in India originally migrated from Sindh to the Kutch region of Gujarat and to Barmer in Rajasthan. Ajrakh is also the traditional attire of the Maldhari pastoral & khatri community of Bhuj Gujarat. The process is long and detailed, involving multiple stages where each layer of colour is printed only after a resting period, allowing the cloth to absorb the dye fully. Made from pure cotton, it is ideal for creating kurtas, shirts, dresses or even home decor items.
